Conserve your land for the future
In the late 1990s, the Government of Saskatchewan passed new legislation enabling the use of conservation easements (CEs) to protect natural lands. Today, DUC remains one of the leading agencies to sign these agreements with farmers, ranchers and other landowners across the province.
CEs are legal tools that restrict some land uses while allowing others. You maintain ownership of your land, while making a commitment to conserve its natural areas. DUC easements pay approximately 35% of current land values. And they’re compatible with grazing, haying and other low-impact land uses.
Curious about CEs but not sure they’re for you? Here’s our CE FLYER and you can read other landowner experiences here.
