Large Wetlands

Construction of a DUC wetland build at Smith Homestead Farm, Ontario.

Put water back on your land

Large wetlands contribute to the natural infrastructure of landscapes by storing carbon, cleaning our water, filtering nutrients, and supporting overall watershed health and landscape resiliency.

These projects create high-functioning ecosystems by using water-control structures (e.g., earthen dykes, steel water-control structures, culverts, and wooden stop logs).

These restorations bring new life to the landscape and are an opportunity to enhance environmental functions while working in partnership with public and private landowners.

Keeping these wetlands healthy and intact ensures that they continue to offer environmental benefits.
